Meeting Scheduled in Oman Between Gulf States and Iran on “Hormuz” Postponed

Al-Taj News – Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi announced Sunday that a regional meeting scheduled to be held Monday in the city of Salalah had been postponed to a later date, with the aim of creating conditions for a dialogue that would lead to understandings supporting the security and stability of the region.

Al-Busaidi said in a post on the X platform that the decision to postpone the meeting came “out of a desire to create the appropriate conditions for constructive dialogue that contributes to achieving sustainable understandings that support the security and stability of the region and meet the aspirations of its peoples for cooperation and peace.”

The meeting was scheduled to be held in Salalah between Gulf states and Iran to discuss potential agreements regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

Fars News Agency quoted the Foreign Ministry as saying that the postponement of the Strait of Hormuz meeting came at the request of some countries in the region and was a joint decision between Tehran and Muscat.
